Paperlust Photobook Dummy Review Open Call

PAPERLUST Photobook Fest is pleased to announce an open call for Photobook Dummy Review.

Submission is open to citizens of Visegrad Group countries: Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia.

 

PLACE AND TIME

 

PAPERLUST Photobook Dummy Review will take place on 2nd June in Tytano, Dolnych Młynów 10, 33-332 Kraków, Polska, from 10 am until 4 pm.

 

PRICE

 

The fee for participation is 35 euros/ 150 pln. Each participant has a right to 4 meetings, each lasting 20 minutes. The submission itself is free of charge. We can accept 20 submissions.

 

TIMELINE

 

The submission deadline is 20th May. The organiser will contact selected artists by 22nd May. Each participant is obliged to pay the full fee to  the organiser’s account (details will be sent to artists after selection) before 27th May. The final list of participants will be announced on 28th May. On Saturday, 1st June, all Artists and Experts are invited to take part in the joint Portfolio Evening organised by Krakow Photomonth and PAPERLUST Photobook Fest. The Review itself will take place on Sunday, 2nd June 2019.

 

SUBMISSION

 

A valid submission consists of a minimum of 10-20 photographs, details about the author, and information about the project.

 

Photographs have to be in JPG format only, 72 dpi, longer side between 1000 px and 1500px. Files should be named: surname_name_projecttitle_filenumber(01, 02, 03…).jpg

 

Personal and project data should be submitted in a DOC file named: surname_name.doc.

That must include information in the following order:

 

1. name
2. phone number
3. email
4. website / blog
5. bio (up to 500 characters)
6. project description up to 1500 characters (if more than one project, then they should all be included in the same doc file).

Submissions that do not contain all needed files (photos and document with details) will not be taken into consideration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The organizer is not responsible for the accidental absence of Experts. The organiser is also not responsible for the absence of the participant (there will be a possibility to get the fee back). If for any reason the participant is not able to take part in the review, they shall immediately inform the organizer by email or phone.

 

DECLARATION

 

The artist assures that  they are the author or owns the rights to all the pictures and ideas  they are submitting.

 

PORTFOLIO EVENING

 

On Saturday, 1st June, we invite all of the Participants and Experts of Photobook Dummy Review to join the Portfolio Evening, a special joint event organised by Krakow Photomonth and Paperlust Photobook Fest. The evening will last from 6:30 pm until 8 pm  at PURO, Halicka 14A. This will be an opportunity for participants of both reviews to display their portfolios and dummies to all of the experts and to the public. It’s a great occasion for networking. Taking part in Portfolio Evening is obligatory to be considered for Review Prize.

 

WINNING PORTFOLIO

 

The winner of Photobook Dummy Review will be selected by reviewers during Portfolio Evening, so to take part in the competition, the Participant has to be present during this event, which takes place on Saturday, 1nd June.

 

REVIEW PRIZE

 

The winner of Photobook Dummy Review will get an opportunity to have a longer consultation with a Photobook Dummy Expert of his / her choice. The time and date of the meeting will be agreed directly between the Winner and Reviewer. The winner can either visit the hometown of the Expert and set a face to face meeting or talk via Internet video communication channels.

 

DATA INFORMATION

 

By completing the application, the artist grants Fresh From Poland permission to use submitted material in connection with the PAPERLUST Photobook Fest for marketing reasons. They also accept  that the event may be documented by photographers and shared on social media.

 

Your data is processed by the Fresh From Poland Foundation and may be used for marketing (newsletter) purposes. If you wish you can access your data and change or remove them. We do not share your data with any third parties.
